Description

Independent living is designed for seniors who are able to live on their own yet prefer the security and convenience offered by community living. Most independent living communities offer daily social and recreational activities as well as amenities such as meals, laundry facilities, housekeeping services, and scheduled transportation. Although these communities offer services that enable seniors to remain more independent, they do not offer assistance with activities of daily living such as eating, bathing, dressing, medication monitoring and toileting. Some independent living communities do offer on-site home care services through a third party home care agency.

Payment Options and Eligibility

Private Pay. Medicare and Medicaid (ALTCS) does not cover independent living.

Cost

$1250 - $5000 per month. Some communities are a buy-in which requires additional money down.
