Alzheimer's communities are assisted living facilities specifically designed to support the needs of people with Alzheimer's disease. These residences give individuals suffering from memory disorders the opportunity to live in a safe and secure homelike environment that promotes interaction with residents and staff. Characteristics of Alzheimer's communities in Arizona and Nevada include: a staff trained in caring for people with Alzheimer's including a nurse and on-call MD, life enrichment activities, family involvement, and a physical layout that promotes mobility and independence. The programs and services offered in these communities are customized to address the needs, strengths, and limitations of each individual resident.

Payment Options and Eligibility

Primarily private pay; Medicare does not cover Alzheimer's communities. Medicaid covers assisted living / Alzheimer's care in Arizona and Nevada at Medicaid certified facilities. Some long term care insurance policies will cover assisted living and Alzheimer's care.
